Manufacturing: MINACO and Its Division

Minaco is Finstone’s beneficiating division. Since 1936, Minaco, and its divisions, continue to operate, making it the oldest stone processing company in South Africa. Acquired by the Finstone Group in 1996, Minaco counts on over 90 employees divided in the three divisions, MINACO LASTRE, MINACO SPESSORI, and MINACO CONTRATTI. Minaco’s divisions encompass all diverse aspects of benefication, from sawing of rough blocks, the distribution of various cut-to-size materials, as well as the installation and production of finished products.

MINACO LASTRE: Established in 1994, this factory is specialized in the cutting and processing of slabs ranging between 20mm to 40mm thanks to the 12 gang saws, diamond-wire saw, and a double wire saw. The production capacity of this processing plant is estimated annually to be close to 400.

MINACO DIVISIONE SPESSORI Has established itself as one of the largest manufacturers of thick slabs in Southern Africa, supplying the local and international market with slabs ranging between 50mm and 500mm in thickness. Its factory boasts a 10 disc and a multi-wire saw facility capable of producing more than 200 000m² per year.

MINACO DIVISIONE CONTRATTI, established in 1936, has maintained, over many decades, a reputation for its specialized team of craftsmen whose knowledge in the design, contracting and application of natural stone products remains unmatched in the stone industry.
Minaco Divisione Contratti supports turnkey operations and offers complimentary services that include:

  • optimising design input from concept to completion.
  • advice on the suitability and availability of local and imported natural stone materials.
  • guidance on installation, detailing and surface finishes to suit architectural, remodeling and or other building project requirements
